2019 marked Tracie's inaugural year serving as the Frederick County Building Industry Association's President. This year also marked FCBIA's 60th Anniversary.
It all started 60 Years ago when four Frederick Builders; Ausherman Homes, Morgan-Keller, the Brosius Brothers, and Hilton Homes all saw a need for a united voice as Frederick City and Frederick County began enacting policy that affected the housing industry. Knowing then that the health of the economy was (and still is) directly tied to the building and housing industry, these four “competitors” organized the Frederick Home Builders Association. Through many ups and downs and name changes along the way- the Frederick County Building Industry Association has grown into over 200 hundred members strong and still has an active role in advocating on behalf of its members.
This legacy and is what FCBIA celebrated on October 9, 2019 where over 150 members and friends gathered at scenic Musket Ridge to celebrate FCBIA’s 60th Anniversary.
NAHB Chairman of the Board, Greg Ugalde, commenced the event with a NAHB proclamation in honor of FCBIA’s 60 Years as a chapter. Other distinguished guests included MBIA CEO, Lori Graf, and Maryland Secretary of Smart Growth, Wendi Peters.
